Surrounded by nature, our property feels peaceful and secluded, with water views, mature trees, wildflowers and green spaces — and you may even catch a glimpse of the cranes, trumpeter swans, beavers and other wildlife that call this little corner of Minnesota home.

Choose from three beautiful ceremony locations, including the warmth and charm of the Cottage itself, giving you both indoor and outdoor options for your wedding day.

And while it feels wonderfully tucked away, you’re not far away at all.

Located in the Brainerd Lakes Area, a little over two hours from Minneapolis and St. Paul, The Emerald Cottage is easy to reach and close to hotels, vacation rentals, airports and everything your guests may need.

Nearby Nisswa — one of our favorite little Minnesota towns — gives your guests even more to enjoy while they’re here, with shopping, restaurants, golf, fishing, biking and plenty of ways to turn your wedding into a weekend away.

And if the weather changes, there’s no need to make the call days in advance. If rain or unpredictable Minnesota weather makes an outdoor ceremony difficult, The Emerald Cottage offers a beautiful indoor ceremony option right inside the Cottage.

We can wait until approximately 60 minutes before your ceremony to make the final decision to move indoors, giving you as much time as possible to enjoy the outdoor setting you originally envisioned.

Because Minnesota weather can change quickly, we love being able to give you that extra flexibility and peace of mind.

Other Important Details

– We recommend several good catering options! Catering is not included and our recommended caterers will work with you to create the perfect charcuterie boards or sit down menu for your special day; whether plated, buffet or taco bar.

– To request a ‘Minnesota Blooms’ wedding date, email us at support@theemeraldcottageonhiddenlane.com. In order to book the date, we require a signed contract and 50% of the rental fee, with the remaining rental fee due 60 days in advance. We are one of the most flexible wedding venues around the Brainerd Area.
